The Wake League celebrated the 90th birthday of the
League of Women Voters with high tea at The Heritage. Sandwiches, desserts
and tea were served to the 30 members attending. Jo Nicholas and Marylou
Bernett came from Moore County League with a presentation of Carrie Catt's
involvement in the suffrage movement and inception of the League. We followed
their presentation with a sing-along of suffrage songs. The music sheet
and tunes can be downloaded from the members
only section of LWVNC's web
site. |
