About Better Ballot NC (from their website)

Better Ballot North Carolina is a politically, regionally and socially diverse non-partisan non-profit 501(c)(3) dedicated to educating the NC public about Ranked Choice Voting (RCV).

Our mission empowers North Carolinians with knowledge of electoral reforms that bring fairer elections by encouraging greater candidate and voter participation, ensuring office holders win a true majority of voter support, and better reflecting the will of North Carolina’s voters.

Founded in July 2020, Better Ballot North Carolina is united in the belief that Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) is a simple, positive election reform that gives voters more of a voice.

About our speakers:
Lennie Friedman
Lennie Friedman has been a business leader in NC since graduating from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business in 2011. Lennie is the Chief Operating Officer of Vetovation, Inc., a veterinary medical device company headquartered in Raleigh.

Prior to business school, Lennie played football at Duke University followed by a 10-year career in the National Football League.

Lennie is a volunteer for Better Ballot NC (BBNC) and leads BBNC’s communication team. Lennie advocates for RCV because it is a NON-PARTISAN voting infrastructure that incentivizes politicians to achieve a greater than 50% majority of the electorate to support them, thereby reducing polarization of our politics, and working towards solutions that are supported by a majority of voters.

Vicki Ryder
Vicki earned her Masters Degree in Education at Hunter College, City University of New York, in 1966. She currently serves as Co-Lead for Outreach and Training for Better Ballot NC, and has presented many programs about Ranked Choice Voting for North Carolina organizations including the League of  Women Voters, OLLI at NC State, and Democracy NC.

A retired teacher, mediator, community organizer, and conflict management trainer, Vicki was a training specialist for the New York Governor’s Office on Employee Relations. She is the recipient of many awards for community engagement, advocacy, and volunteer service.
