Professor Kathryn A. Sabbeth, Professor of Law at the UNC School of Law, will be the speaker at the February 24th meeting of the League's Affordable Housing Committee. Professor Sabbeth will speak on the causes and consequences of eviction. To register, click on the "RSVP Now" link on the right. This event is open to the public. Kathryn Sabbeth
Aside from her course instruction on civil litigation, legal ethics and social justice, Professor Sabbeth conducts the UNC School of Law Civil Legal Assistance Clinic, by which UNC law students provide legal advice and full legal representation to tenants and participate in advocacy projects that address eviction, dangerous housing conditions, and housing discrimination.
Professor Sabbeth has also extensively written and given presentations on the issues of tenants' rights, the eviction legal process and eviction court design, and the impact of eviction on black lives and women.
