Join LWV-Members for Lunch at the The Daily Planet Cafe!
Our next LWV-Wake casual get-to-know gathering will be held in downtown Raleigh. Members of the Membership Committee will be at The Daily Planet Cafe on Wednesday December 6, 2023, from 11:30 am until 1:30 pm.
Come join us for the time that fits your workday schedule. The cafe is located at 121 W Jones St., Raleigh. It can be accessed through its own street entrance; you don’t have to enter through the Museum of Natural History. If you’re driving, we suggest the Green Square Parking Deck at the corner of Edenton and McDowell, entrance on Edenton. This will put you just around the corner from the Daily Planet.
Whenever you arrive, walk in, place your order and pay, then join us at the League table: which may be inside or out depending on weather and number of people in the café that day. Staff will give you a pager so you’ll know when your order is ready, or you can order in advance through the website and arrive to find your food and drink waiting. The menu can be seen in advance on the website, and though the menu does not inform you of this, it’s built on “products born and bred in the Tarheel state.”
Take part of your lunch break on December 6 to meet up with League friends and make new ones; ask questions about what various committees are doing, and explore opportunities for greater involvement. (We also note that the Museum of Natural History gift shop can be a source of inspiration for holiday gifts.)
