Dear ~~first_name~~,

Greetings from LWV-Wake. We are just 43 days from the North Carolina Presidential Primary on March 5th. We have been busy planning outreach events to inform voters about early voting dates/locations, as well as voter ID requirements.

Speaking of voting, the North Carolina Board of Elections has issued a new voter registration form to help communicate the HelpAmericaVote Act more clearly to voters. Since many of you assist with voter registration efforts, we invite you to watch a short instructional video that LWVNC has created to learn about the new form. You can view the videos by clicking on the link on the LWVNC website here.

We also have a new addition to our Voter Services committee leadership. Helen Zimmerman has graciously volunteered to help co-chair the committee, along with Johannes Christensen and Marian Lewin. Helen will help Johanne lead monthly meetings and plan voter outreach projects. Welcome Helen!

Our VOTE411 team is reaching out to candidates to remind them to complete candidate questionnaires and anticipates VOTE411.org to go live with this information in early February.

If you are interested in joining the voter services committee, please add your name to the committee list on our website and reach out to Helen or Johanne to be placed on our Voter Services Google Groups email list.

Timely Topics: Wake County Board of Elections Director Olivia McCall - THIS THURSDAY 5:30PM
Please join us to learn about new voting changes for Wake County in 2024. We are fortunate to have Ms. McCall explain how the voting landscape will change ahead of the March 5th Presidential Primary Election, and how LWV-Wake can help prepare voters. This will be a virtual event. To register, scroll to events for the link.

Check Your Membership Status! The League Needs Your Involvement and Support

The last quarter of the calendar year brings all of us much activity and many distractions. It may be an excellent time to check on your membership status with the League.  Many memberships expired between July 1 and the end of December. Don’t miss your access to programs, events, socials, and the news alerts by having your membership expire.

Go online (www.lwvwake.org) and log in to your account (the upper right hand corner) and click on “join or renew” to pay your current dues online via a credit card or PayPal. You may also send your check ($60 for individuals; $90 for households) to the office (3509 Haworth Drive Suite 306  Raleigh, NC 27609) and your payment will be recorded and your membership status updated.  If your membership lapsed earlier in the year, you many need to rejoin as a new member.

Questions? Concerns? Email Membership Co-Chair Dale Cousins @ dalenbill@gmail.com.

There is work to do in 2024.  Let’s make it an active and happy 2024 with individual support and efforts.
