About this event
The Women’s Rights Committee of LWV of Wake County invites everyone to our Timely Topics event on March 17th from 12pm-1:30pm at the Highland United Methodist Church to discuss the current status of the Equal Rights Amendment. We will cover the importance of adding this to the constitution of the state of NC, the current status here and nationally, and how to advocate for its passage.
This event is open to the public. Please bring your own lunch and guests!
Guest Panelists

Dianna Wynn, President LWVUS
Dianna Wynn has over 35 years of experience delivering training to businesses, government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and adult learners. Dianna was elected president of the League of Women Voters of the United States in 2024. Prior to joining the LWVUS Board, Dianna was president of the League of Women Voters of Wake County in Raleigh, North Carolina. She is a past president of the ACLU of North Carolina, where she served on the board for several years. Her work with the League and the ACLU reflects her dedication to using a nonpartisan approach when advocating important issues.

Audrey Muck, Co-President, ERA-NC Alliance
Audrey has been involved with the National Organization for Women since the 1980’s, serving in leadership on the local, state and national levels. Audrey is an audio and video producer, writer and editor. She produced news, features and documentaries for public radio and television in the Carolinas, arriving in Winston-Salem in 2006 to work with the local NPR affiliate. An independent filmmaker, she produced “Brazen Belles!” a documentary series about South Carolina women’s rights activists. Audrey joined the planning group to create the ERA-NC Alliance in 2015 and has served the organization as Vice President of Public Relations, Treasurer and webmaster. The Equal Rights Amendment North Carolina Alliance is a group of organizations that agree ratification of the ERA will improve women’s lives in North Carolina and the United States.

Sherry MacQueen, VP for Legislation ERA-NC Alliance
A proud feminist her entire life, one of Sherry’s fondest memories is marching for passage of the ERA in 1972 when the North Carolina Legislature was voting for ratification. Sherry is a Civil Engineer with a BSCE from NC State University. Sherry is Co-Chair of the NC LWV ERA League Action Team (LAT) responsible for organizing and supporting ERA LATs throughout NC. She was awarded the NC-LWV Leadership Award in 2019. Sherry has been active with the ERA-NC Alliance since 2017, serving two terms on the Board of Directors. She received the Susan B. Anthony Award in recognition of her dedication to the vision of Equal Rights for Women.
