LWV-Wake Membership

The League of Women Voters is a national grassroots organization where individuals like you actively engage in creating positive change on the local, state, and national levels.

Please consider adding your voice to the over 150,000 League members across the nation. Become a member, serve as a leader in your community, and work to shape the important issues that keep our communities strong.

You do not have to be a resident of Wake County to join our League. Several neighboring counties do not have a local League, but members from those counties are welcome to be active in LWV-Wake.

NEW Join and Renew Portal

NEW! Join and Renewal Portal

Beginning February 3, 2025, LWVUS is implementing a new LWVUS Membership Portal, formerly known as ChapterSpot.

The LWVUS Membership Portal is the new membership platform where members across the country will join, pay dues, and update their information.

A couple of things haven't changed: Any individual aged 16 or older may become a League member and memberships are renewed annually.

When you join/renew, you're automatically a member of the LWVUS, LWVNC and LWV-Wake County Leagues.

Dues are collected by Stripe, an online payment software on the Membership Platform and managed by LWVUS. Your dues are split among the three national, state and local League tiers. You will see three separate charges on your credit card statement showing the dues split between LWVUS, LWVNC and LWV of Wake County.

Click below to read about the progression to this new LWVUS Membership Portal.

Dues

Dues amounts are on a 'Pay-What-You-Can' system. The suggested amount is $75 per member. However, you can choose any amount over $20.

You can also choose to add an additional member to your membership when you join/renew, and choose any dues amount above $20 for the additional member.  Suggested minimums allow us to pay for organizational expenses as well as program costs. Please consider this when choosing your dues amount.

The LWVUS Membership Portal accepts major credit/debit cards as well ACH electronic check payment. We do not accept PayPal.

Clicking on the link below will send you to the LWVUS Membership Portal.  You will join/renew, pay your dues, and provide your contact information on this portal.

Approximately 24 hours after joining and paying your dues, you will receive an email from LWV-Wake with login directions and a temporary password to use on our website,  lwvwake.org.
