LWVWake Membership

The League of Women Voters is a national grassroots organization where individuals like you actively engage in creating positive change on the local, state, and national levels.


Please consider adding your voice to the over 150,000 League members across the nation. Become a member, serve as a leader in your community, and work to shape the important issues that keep our communities strong.


You do not have to be a resident of Wake County to join our League. Several neighboring counties do not have a local League, but members from those counties are welcome to be active in LWVWake.

The League of Women Voters of Wake County is a nonprofit charitable corporation with 501c(3) tax-exempt status in the United States. Dues are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Your receipt will serve as a record of the donation. No goods or services were provided, in whole or in part, for this contribution.

Join or Renew

Any individual aged 16 or older may become a League member.  Memberships are annual; renewal notices are sent electronically based on the anniversary of the initial dues payment. Click on each membership level to see dues amount and other details.

Annual dues are $60.00.

Annual dues are $90 for two people residing at the same address.

Benefactor
The Benefactor level of membership is for those who would like to provide additional membership funds to the League to support Pay-What-You-Can members. Dues are $100 for Benefactor (Individual) and $150 for Benefactor (Household).

Student
A Student membership is free. A student is defined as an individual who is enrolled either full or part time in an accredited institution. Students should select the Student membership regardless of place of residence.

Pay-What-You-Can-Min. $25
Pay-What-You-Can
A Pay-What-You-Can membership is also available as we recognize that membership costs should not prevent or exclude people from joining. There is a minimum fee of $25 for this membership. Costs beyond the minimum are offset by members who join at the Benefactor level.  Email president@lwvwake.org to arrange for this membership. You do not need to demonstrate financial need for this membership.
