Presented by: William Munn, Ph.D.
Come join LWV-Wake as it hosts William Munn, Ph.D., as he presents on: “
Health Inequities in North Carolina: A Story
”. This Members Only event, sponsored by the LWVW Healthcare Committee, will look at the deep inequities in our state’s healthcare.
Dr. Munn, Senior Policy Analyst with the Health Advocacy Project at the NC Justice Center, will explore numerous aspects of this inequity, exploring the reasons behind the higher death rate in people of color and the intersection of various social, legal, and economic reasons.
Dr. Munn will also discuss how the COVID-19 pandemic as well as the North Carolina General Assembly’s refusal to expand Medicaid has impacted these inequities.
William Munn is Senior Policy Analyst with the Health Advocacy Project of the North Carolina Justice Center. Dr. Munn blends research, data visualization, legislative advocacy, and community empowerment to advance the movement to bring health care access to all North Carolinians.
