Please join us as we welcome our own Yolanda Taylor, a Wake Forest resident and prominent attorney practicing through her Center for Community Law and Equity https://lawandcommunity.com/, where she focuses on the areas of housing justice, health equity, affordable housing and community and economic development law.

Yolanda will discuss how to examine housing decisions made by Wake County and its twelve municipalities, using a racial equity lens.  In addition, as a resident of the Town of Wake Forest, she will update us on the town's affordable housing plan.

Taylor is an adjunct professor of law at Wake Forest University School of Law where she teaches law through the lens of justice in America and how it relates to concepts like power and oppression. Her students engage in community lawyering that supports grassroots residents and their social movements.  She helps her students build a lens for racial justice equity while using their legal skills to support residents who oppose inequitable zoning, gentrification and inequitable development in their neighborhoods.

This meeting is open to the public. Zoom link will be sent in the registration confirmation email.
