Bring your lunch and join us as we welcome Tom Baker from the Bridging Divides Initiative at Princeton University and Joseph Wiinikka-Lydon, Ph.D., Senior Research Analyst, Intelligence Project, Southern Poverty Law Center to discuss different types of extremism and the impact these views have on our democracy. Dessert will be provided by our LWV-Wake volunteers.

TOM BAKER IV
Tom Baker IV is a Senior Research Specialist with Princeton University’s Bridging Divides Initiative. He focuses on political violence, extremism, and election-related conflict, producing North Carolina-specific Situation Reports to inform stakeholders of emerging conflict sites. His expertise in open-source intelligence analysis and conflict reporting makes him a key resource in political risk and security. With a military and private sector intelligence background, Tom brings a unique perspective to studying and preventing political violence
JOE WIINIKKA-LYDON
Joe Wiinikka-Lydon is a senior research analyst at Southern Poverty Law Center where he monitors and researchers antigovernment movements and Christian extremism. Trained in religious and philosophical ethics, he also writes on issues of moral injury, war and peace, and religion and extremism. His latest work is Moral Injury and the Promise of Virtue, published with Palgrave MacMillan.
